"Those damn Black Stars, they didn't even bother tryin' to hide their approach. They just burn in straight and headed for us. We didn't make things easy for ourselves by concentrating our forces at the Fortress and Atlantis City... It ain't a slaughter by any measure, but when they somehow grabbed the Major and shot his Victor to pieces, we knew our time was numbered." ========== "We haven't had such a good fight since we set up shops. Those mercs just bombarded us for weeks. Somehow, they managed to find a breach in the Fortress walls and waltzed right in. That's when the REAL right started - within the confines of our base. Damn those battle armour were scary..." ========== "The Marsian Invasion Battalion had done our fair share of city assaults you know, but those Black Stars certainly had their own ideas. Smoke. Can you believe it? They simply smoked us out of Atlantis." Excerpts from interrogations of pirates captured from Erdvynn.

27th March 3095

Contract Summary:
The Black Stars had finally returned from the Lyran Periphery backwaters after months of communications black out. In tow with Baron Zhao was the sole heir of House Serfass from the Provincial Capital world of Alarion. The young noble would not speak of his seven month ordeal behind enemy lines, but instead chose to honour those that had given their lives so that the others might survive and return home. Other than the young noble's Alarion Swords - his own private force, Baron Zhao had also seen to the rescue and extraction of many Lyran citizens that had been taken by various pirate bands over the years. Quite how the Black Stars had succeeded in doing so is obviously classified information. The identities of those rescued however, are not. Among these included the daughter of Magnus GioAvanti, CEO of Avanti Industries...

Black Stars

Unit: Black Stars
Registry: FW-CD-02-08
Status: SUCCESSFUL
Timeframe:From 28 July 3095 to 25 September 3095

CONTRACT SUMMARY:
For all the hype surrounding the Black Stars Mercenary Command crossing the border from the Lyran Alliance to the Free Worlds League to undertake their first contract for the latter in the post-CSoT era, there was nothing much to write home about. Fears of bandit attacks on the system itself, reinforced by apparent leaked news of newly minted M-bills to be shipped out from Merton never materialized. This was attributed to both the appearance of several Black Stars sub-unit as well as a sizable FWLN black naval flotilla to escort the very same cargo the bandits were supposed to target. Unofficial reports suggests that the Circinus Federation had indeed gathered a sizable Black Warriors force beefed up by additional hired guns on the nearby system of Hardisey's Haven. Whether the Black Stars, other FWL forces, or a combination of both will be sent out to hit back at the Warriors remain a question without immediate answers.

Black Stars

Postby Remington von Wolffe » Fri Nov 03, 2017 11:00 pm

Unit: Black Stars
Registry: FW-DC-04-09
Status: SUCCESSFUL
Timeframe:From Dec 3095 to Mar 3096

CONTRACT SUMMARY:
Captain-General, For the last two years or so, we have received accounts, news and reports that increasing numbers of Tamarind systems near the Periphery had suffered raids by various pirate bands as well as the Periphery states of Circinus Federation and even the Marian Hegemony. The approved of Marshall Photon Brett-Marik’s multi-prong strategy a year ago in employing several mercenary units, convincing provinces to allow private corporations to build up small defence forces, as well as deploying as much of Provincial troops that could be spared back to their home worlds seemed to be reaping noticeable results. The latest victory on Galisteo that had netted sizable military salvage as well as intelligence on the Circinus Federation had further vindicated our decision to allow the Brett-Marik’s initiatives to serve as an example to other provinces and independent worlds. Other military district commands have started to clamour for similar approvals, as have independent planets within the League or else part of the ever shifting patchwork of minor regions. Indeed, appeals from systems even within the four principal provinces had been on the rise. We will have to filter through all submitted requests of course – more than a few would be simply attempts to build up Provincial Forces as part of their own private armies that would owe their loyalties away from the Captain-General’s office. It should not be ignored that the arrangements between officially non-politically aligned parties to exchange “paroled” nationalists between the League and Lyran Alliance had achieved the desired result of allowing such a sensitive action to be carried out under the radar amidst of all the attention being focused on the Black Stars and their exploits. Brett-Marik seemed to have emerged as the knight in shining armour from the entire affair, being universally praised for his actions and foresight. I do believe that it would be prudent if we take additional note to ascertain his allegiance as well as those under his command. Signed, Adam Constantine LCCC Minister of Defense
